Conference on Dara Shikoh held

Hyderabad: A two-day national conference on ‘Dara Shikoh Literary and Historical Personality and Relevance in Present Era’ began at Maulana Azad National Urdu University on Monday. Dara Shikoh, the son of mughal emperor Shah Jahan was noted as the harbinger of a plurastic approach. Fakhre Alam, head of Urdu department at Lucknow’s Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti Language University pointed out the similarity between thoughts of Dara Shikoh and poet Mohd Iqbal.“It is unfortunate people honoured Iqbal for his ideals whereas Dara Shikoh was hanged for the same,” he said. tnn
