Hyderabad: Chief minister A
Revanth Reddy on Tuesday threw a challenge at BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and ex-minister T
Harish Rao whether they would abolish the BRS party if the Cong govt waives off crop loans up to 2 lakh before August 15.
“I am swearing on Jogulamba temple mother goddess that I will keep my word and waive of 2 lakh crop loans and also extend 500 bonus to paddy from next crop.
Both,
KCR and Harish should get ready to abolish the BRS as it is the farmers who voted Congress to victory and my life would be redundant if don’t help them. Sun may rise from the West, but I will keep my promise and waive of crop loans before August 15,” Revanth said, in a reply to T Harish Rao’s challenge whether he would resign as the CM if he is not able to waive off crop loans before August 15.
Addressing a public meeting in Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha constituency, CM Revanth accused former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar, who has joined hands with “Madiga-drohi” K Chandrasekhar Rao, that he will have to stand as a culprit before the Madiga community.
“Former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is anti-Madiga. He promised to take an all-party delegation to Delhi to exert pressure on the Modi-government for categorisation of SCs into A,B, C and D groups but did not do it. Praveen Kumar, who told people that he would fight to bring down the KCR-dora govt, has joined hands with KCR who was rejected by 4 crore people of Telangana in the assembly elections. I don’t have any enmity either with Praveen of the BRS or DK Aruna of the BJP. But I feel pain for Praveen as the Congress stood with him, when KCR harassed him while he was serving as an IPS officer. It was understandable if Praveen had continued in the BSP or even joined Congress to fight against Dorala govt (KCR govt) but he joined ranks with KCR party, which he abused to the hilt. What has made him do this?,” Revanth said, addressing a public meeting in Nagarkurnool LS constituency.
The BRS has fielded Praveen, BJP has nominated P Bharath and the Congress has named ex-MP Mallu Ravi as its candidates from Nagarkurnool. While the BRS has nominated its sitting MP Manne Srinivas Reddy, the BJP has fielded DK Aruna and the Congress named Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy for Mahabubnagar LS seat. Both Nagarkurnool and Mahabubnagar parliamentary constituencies were part of old Mahabubnagar district.
“The Congress govt is committed for categorisation of SCs and is fighting the case by hiring the best lawyers in Supreme Court. We will bring Mudiraj community into BC-A category from BC-D and Valmiki Boya community into ST reservation category,” Revanth said.
Terming himself as Palamuru-Nallamalla bidda, Revanth said his life ambition is to turn the old Mahabubnagar district lands into gold by completing all the pending irrigation projects and irrigating every acre of agricultural land. “I am only the second CM from this district after Burgula Ramakrishna Rao. This is a golden opportunity for the people of Palamuru to vote Congress to victory to ensure this district is developed to stand competition at world level for next 100 years,” Revanth said.
“ Vote for Mallu Ravi from Nagarkurnool and Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy from Mahabubnagar to victory so that they will raise your voice in parliament and take up your issues with the central govt in Delhi. Neither KCR nor Modi have done anything for Mahabubnagar in the last 10 years,” Revanth said.
