HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that it is a proud moment for
Telangana that it has become a centre for teachings on social equality of Sri Ramanujacharya among the citizens after thousands of years. The CM said it is wonderful that the statue of Sri Ramanujacharya who depicted equality among the people is being installed in Hyderabad.
The CM along with his wife visited Muchintal and participated in Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Samaroh celebrations on Thursday.
KCR inquired about the arrangements with Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.
KCR said that the state government would take all the necessary responsibilities for the function. He said that his family would offer fruits and Prasadams for the pandits.Vedic scholars from Karnataka, Tirupathi, Nepal and other Vaishnavite centres would grace the occasion.
The CM said that he is happy that the state government was arranging transport for the pilgrims to come to the Centre and the revenue, police, electricity, water and sanitization departments are also very well cooperating.
Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy explained about the 10-day programme to the CM.
The CM did pradakshina around Sri Ramanujacharya statue and played the Maha Ghanta, which weighed 1260 kg and os 4 and half feet tall. The CM inaugurated the Sathvik dining hall and a preview theatre and also watched the short film on Sri Ramanuja's life. The CM supervised the command and control centre for the visit of President and the PM.
