CM Revanth will visit Sangareddy soon: Jagga Reddy
Hyderabad: Telangana Congress working president T Jayaprakash (Jagga) Reddy has said there was nothing wrong in having chief minister and PCC president from the same community. He said PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud might continue for some more time.
Responding to a question that earlier Komatireddy Venkat Reddy commented that the former Sangareddy MLA should be made PCC president, Jagga Reddy, during a media interaction at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, said Venkat Reddy might have made those comments generally.
"In Congress, Reddys and BCs are unitedly working for the party and state. Mahesh Kumar Goud became PCC president with the support of Reddys, and I proposed his name during the election," the working president said. When BRS was in power, both CM and party president were the same, but none of the BCs or others questioned that, he said.
On cabinet expansion, the Congress leader said there was nothing wrong if two brothers, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and his brother Rajgopal Reddy, were inducted into the cabinet. He announced that he would not contest from Sangareddy assembly constituency in the next election. Instead, his wife Nirmal would contest.
Jagga Reddy said he invited CM Revanth Reddy to Sangareddy, and asked for funds. The CM agreed to visit on April 30 or in May. "I have given a report on developmental works that are required, and the CM will be holding a review meeting on April 21," he said. "The CM also okayed my request for allocation of house plots to about 15,000 poor people, and instructions were also given to the collector," he added.
