Class seven student attempts suicide, critical

Hyderabad: A Class 7 student attempted suicide at the TG Sports School in Hakimpet on Sunday afternoon. Police said the student's condition is critical.The minor, who is from Suryapet district, took the extreme step in his hostel room. His brother, who also studies at the same sports school, found him struggling and immediately alerted the school staff. The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital and later shifted to a corporate hospital for advanced treatment.
Police said that while the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the boy was not interested in continuing his studies while staying in the hostel. He had been training in judo at the school for the past year.Upon learning about the incident, Minister V Srihari visited the hospital and enquired about the boy's condition. He also spoke to DGP Shivadhar Reddy and directed that a probe be conducted to determine the cause of the incident. Srihari said that the govt would bear all medical expenses, irrespective of the cost.
