Citizenship row: Ramesh files reply
Hyderabad: Vemulawada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh on Tuesday informed the high court that he conveyed to the German authorities about his intention to relinquish his German citizenship. He reacquired his Indian passport and citizenship in 2009.
Ramesh’s counsel Y Rama Rao said that German officials had already clarified that all those who possess German passports were not that country’s citizens. The central government, which cancelled the Indian citizenship of the MLA on grounds of suppressing required information while applying for Indian citizenship in 2009, sought time to file its counter. Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili posted the case to two weeks for taking up final hearing. tnn

Not sure why the stupid union govt is creating fuss about this man. The man is full blooded Indian in origin and he swears that he had relinquished his German citizenship. MEA should intimate the same to Germany while reinstating Indian citizenship at the same time and the chapter is closed.Read allPost comment
