The leadership of the southern states in the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) supported by stable governments are game changers in achieving this milestone, she said.
Elaborating on CII-SR’s theme – ‘Beyond South India@75’ – she said the industry body will focus on policy and regulatory excellence, enhancing core competitiveness, protecting lives and livelihood, societal connect, sustainability and membership engagement.
On the strategy areas for 2022-23, Ella said the priority will be to work closely with the governments with a special focus on EoDB and Cost of Doing Business (CoDB).

This includes playing to the key strengths to each of these states to catapult them into the next stage of growth. As part of this, CII will focus on making Telangana a global hub for pharma & lifesceinces and a hub for innovation and startups in India, she said.
While key sectors of focus would be defence & aerospace, electronics, agriculture & food processing, pharma & biotechnology, AI & robotics, ayurveda, automobiles, textiles, logistics and tourism given their huge potential for creating employment opportunities, emphasis would also be laid on the development of tier-II and III as industrial cities to boost overall growth.
She pointed out that CII has taken specific initiatives for this through its 15 physical and nine hybrid offices in the region to strengthen engagement with industries in smaller centres.
