HYDERABAD: Two separate incidents involving Chinese manja were reported in the city, leaving a police officer and a woman injured.In the first incident, assistant sub-inspector B Nagaraju of Nallakunta police station sustained injuries while heading to duty from his residence in Uppal on According to Nallakunta police, the ASI was on his way to Exhibition Grounds at Nampally when the sharp kite string caused injuries. He was shifted to Kamineni Hospital at LB Nagar, where he is undergoing treatment. “He is out of danger now,” a police official from Nallakunta PS said.

In the second incident, a woman suffered serious injuries after coming into contact with Chinese manja at Meerpet in Rangareddy district on Monday afternoon. Meerpet police said the woman, a local resident, was walking in Almasguda when the manja wrapped around her leg, causing deep cuts and heavy bleeding. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, treated, and later sent home. “No case was registered,” police added.
