Children's Film Society to set up resource wing

hyderabad: the children's film society of andhra pradesh (cfsap) will start a children's film resource centre (cfrc) in the city installing a video-projection system and with film and print material production by december. the cfrc will be an intellectual development society for children organising exhibitions, puppetry, theatre, video programmes and screening films exclusively for children, cfsap chairman m veda kumar told the times of india on thursday.the programmes at cfrc will be supported by the children's film society of india (cfsi), the state film development corporation (sfdc) and the educational department, he said. the programmes of cfrc would be held parallel to the cfsap's programme of film appreciation, he said. with 30 branches throughout the state and seven in the city, cfsap as part of the children's film appreciation programme initiated in january had screened both indian and foreign films for children, including classics. veda kumar said the cfrc would be a venue for children to interact with film producers, script writers and cinematographers after the screening of the film. it would help improve the power of imagination, behavioural patterns of children with accountability and to help identify good films, he said.
