Chhota Shakeel aide arrested for stabbing

HYDERABAD: A former aide of gangster Chhota Shakeel was arrested by Raidurgam police for stabbing a person on Friday. He was remanded in judicial custody on Saturday.
Police said Kaleem alias Sharif, a cleric at a local mosque, had stabbed Akram after a verbal duel over arrangements for the upcoming Muharrum at the mosque. Kaleem was then picked up by the police.
Upon questioning , it came to light that Kaleem had earlier worked with Chhota Shakeel's gang and was involved in a rioting case under the police station limits of Andheri, Mumbai. Kaleem was wanted by the Mumbai police since 2010 and was taking shelter in Hyderabad.
Police, however, claimed he had not been in touch with any associates of Chota Shakeel.
