HYDERABAD: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police on Monday registered cheating and forgery cases against veteran Tollywood actor and Congress leader G Krishna.
Acting on a petition filed by Anand of Kurnool a week ago, the XII ACMM of Nampally criminal courts directed the police to register a case. As per the court's direction, the south zone team of the CCS police registered cases under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating) and 467 (forgery) against Krishna, his brother, Adiseshagiri Rao, lab in-charge of Vijaya The Economic Timess in Chennai, Rammohan Rao, and two editors at the lab__Ravindranath and Gopalakrishna.
According to the police, in the year 1988, complainant Anand's father Babji provided Rs 14.5 lakh as finance to Padmalaya Movies, owned by Krishna and Adiseshagiri Rao.
Subsequently, with the money, a movie __Rajakeeyachadarangam__ was produced and released by Padmalaya Movies.
The post-production work of the movie was done at Vijaya The Economic Timess Lab at Vadapalani in Chennai. According to the complainant, once the post-production work was over, before delivering the final print to the producers, the lab administration had to take a consent letter from the financier_Babji, which was not done by Krishna and his brother.
"The complainant alleged that Krishna and Adiseshagiri Rao forged the consent letter and with the help of lab administration and released the film," CCS ACP B Muralidhar said. Later, Babji passed away and the complainant alleged that the accused did not pay the financed money till now.
The police said after talking to Anand, they will decided on further course of action. "It is a 21-year-old issue. We have to talk to the complainant to see what kind of evidence that he has in possession and then proceed accordingly," the ACP
