HYDERABAD: A little over a year after banking and financial services veteran

Amitabh Chaturvedi

put in his papers as

Karvy Group

CEO and

KMP

(key management personnel), he has now quit from the board of two

Karvy

group companies – Karvy Financial Services Ltd, a non-banking financial services company, and merchant banking company arvy Investors Services Pvt Ltd.

The move formally ends Chaturvedi’s association with Karvy Group, which had brought him on board as CEO for financial services operations in December 2019.

Chaturvedi

was roped in as part of a restructuring exercise aimed at cleaning up the mess a month after Karvy group was rocked by the demat accounts scam in November 2019.

Sebi had banned Karvy Group flagship KSBL for pledging securities of its clients with lenders, without permission from clients, to raise funds in violation of the then newly introduced Sebi rules that had kicked in on October 1, 2019. Chaturvedi had quit the post of CEO and KMP on January 14, 2021, as per his resignation letter submitted by KSBL to Registrar of Companies.
