Chargesheet filed against T Raja Singh

HYDERABAD: With elections round the corner, Hyderabad police have started acting on pending cases against elected public representatives by filing chargesheets. Mangalhat police have recently filed a chargesheet against Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh in connection with an alleged objectionable video released by the BJP leader on the eve of Holi.

"A video was uploaded by Raja Singh on Facebook in which he appealed to the public to buy colours for Holi festival only from one community and not from others. In connection with this case, we filed the chargesheet in the court," Mangalhat inspector A Ravi Kumar told TOI.

Officers said that the court was yet to take cognizance of the chargesheet. Police had also submitted the video uploaded by Raja Singh besides proof gathered by them. Police said they were yet to file a chargesheet against the MLA in the blasphemous video released by him in August 2022, which led to nationwide protests. tnn
