Hyderabad: Panchayat raj and rural development minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Monday said the state allocated 11,000 crore for Aasara pensions, more than any
BJP or Congress-governed states. The Centre’s share is 1.20 every 100 handed out by the TRS government, he added.
“BJP leaders are making tall claims that the Centre is sponsoring the Aasara pension scheme.
The Centre’s share is 1.20 for 100,” he said.
“The BJP government at the Centre is giving only 215 crore, that too to only 6.66 lakh beneficiaries when compared to over 11,000 crore allocated by the state in 2022-23 budget towards disbursal of Aasara pensions, beneficiaries of which are likely to touch 50 lakh,” he aded.
The state government was giving 2,016 to old aged people and 3,016 for specially challenged people, he said.
