HYDERABAD: A world renowned EDM artist, a Bollywood music sensation and one of India's best stand-up comics — the 7th edition of CBIT's (Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology) annual fest 'Carpediem' lived up to the tag of being 'God of all campus events', as it's popularly called. The two-day fest was a potpourri of laughter, music and loads of banter.
The first day saw popular comedian
Kanan Gill taking the crowd on a laughter ride with his daring brand of comedy. An engineering graduate himself, Kanan joked about college life and relationships, and this struck a chord with the students. Next up was DJ Omnia from Ukraine who dished out his unique style of EDM that set the place on fire. He even came out of the DJ console and waved an Indian flag much to the delight of everyone.
The next day saw a 'fashion showdown' between CBIT and a fashion institute. Both the colleges put up an array of beautiful designs, and there wasn't much to separate between the two groups, but eventually it was CBIT that came out on top.
It was time for the grandest of finales as the students looked to end the fest in style, dancing and singing along with Bollywood hit machine — Mohit Chauhan. The three-hour set was engaging with a variety of songs being performed by Mohit including a few acoustic songs. The concert ended on a massive note with Mohit performing his superhit song Sadda Haq which undoubtedly got the loudest cheers from the crowd of 7,000 students. He later went on to admit that it was one of his best concerts ever!
