HYDERABAD: A first information report (FIR) has been registered against IAS officer Shalini Mishra and three other officials of the women and child welfare department at the instance of the court. According to police, the case against Shalini Mishra was booked following a petition made by N Sanjeeva Rao of the Action for Social Development. At the instance of the court, police on Friday booked a case under Section 211 of IPC (false charge of offence made with intent to injure) against Shalini Mishra.
Cases were also booked against deputy directors Sandhya and Pramodini Rani and Sandhya and another senior official Eshwar Rao under the same sections. It may be mentioned here that Sanjeeva Rao was acquitted by the court in three child adoption cases after the women and child welfare department, which was then headed by Shalini Mishra, raided his adoption home. His contention was that though there was no existing GO at the time of the raid against processing child adoptions, cases were registered against him.
