Tirupati east police sleuths booked a case against YSRCP leader and town bank president Ketham Jayachandra Reddy and Sodisetty Suresh for coercing the voters to pledge support for the ruling party on the polling day tomorrow.
After videos of the local YSRCP leaders forcing the voters to take a vow at the Anjaneya Swamy temple at Korlagunta locality went viral on various social media platforms on Sunday, the Jana Sena and TDP leaders lodged a complaint to the returning officer on the issue.
Following a directive from the returning officer, Tirupati east division police booked a case against Ketham Jayachandra Reddy and Sodisetty Suresh.
Meanwhile, the NDA alliance parties also lodged a complaint about officials decorating the model polling booth premises near campus school premises in the city, with colours associated with the ruling YSRCP and asked the election authorities to dismantle the same before the commencement of poll on Monday.
