Carpenter held for stealing

HYDERABAD: The Malakpet police on Friday arrested a carpenter and his friend, who committed a theft of gold ornaments weighing about 1.5 kg from the residence of K Venkat Reddy, an advocate of Gaddi Annaram.
The carpenter, M V V S Murthy, used to frequent the house of Venkat Reddy to carry out repairs.
Reddy’s family used to keep the gold ornaments in a secret shelf in a cot as a precautionary measure.
On April 26, Murthy collected the ornaments, along with Rs 15,000 cash and fled the city.
Deputy commissioner police (east zone) P V Sunil Kumar formed special teams, which nabbed Murthy, along with N Srinivas Reddy, who helped him in the offence.
