Car tossed 15 feet, Nandamuri Harikrishna flung out

into the median near

, his SUV was tossed nearly 15 feet into the air and he was thrown around 20 metres away as he was not wearing a seat belt, eye-witnesses and police said.

E Shiva Kumar, 28, who was driving a Toyota Corolla car, had a miraculous escape. He also saved lives of four others by swerving away from the Fortuner, which was hurtling towards them.


Shiva Kumar told TOI, “Five of us were in the car. I was at the wheel. The Fortuner was speeding on the other side of the median and we were cruising at 100kmph. Around 6.00am, I noticed the SUV flipping in the air. I quickly steered away. Despite that, the vehicle hit us on the right and landed upside down.”

“We jumped out of the car and found two of us injured. Two people were trying to wriggle out of the SUV. There was no one in the driver’s seat and the door was missing,” he added.

“Locals were searching for the SUV’s driver. A little later, they found the actorpolitician nearby. Within 10 minutes an ambulance arrived at the accident spot and spirited away the injured,” Shiva Kumar added.

Nellore

. I was asleep in the rear seat and woke up to a huge sound. As I was injured, police shifted me, Praveen and Harikrishna in the same ambulance to Kamineni Hospital in Narkeptally. I didn’t see Harikrishna as I was in a state of shock. Praveen suffered serious injuries,” Kapeshwar said.

Harikrishna was not wearing a seat belt. The car flew 15-20 feet into the air and he was thrown 20-25 metres away from the accident site, Nalgonda superintendent of police (SP) A V Ranganath said. Police denied allegations about delay in shifting the injured to hospital.
