'Can’t wait to be back’: City students gear up for campus life this summer
After two years of the drab virtual campus experience, faceless interactions with teachers and professors, and Zoom fatigue, college students finally got a taste of the real deal as campuses across the country reopened last month. Life went from black-and-white to technicolour, they say, as they finally got to not only see their classmates in-person, but also hang out at their favourite campus addas, resume extracurricular activities like theatre or sport and finally enjoy ‘college life’. Next, they can’t wait to visit the much-anticipated college fests and explore the city with fellow classmates.
‘it’s so good to be back on campus; we plan to never miss a day of college’
Many students feel they lost a big a chunk of their golden college years to the pandemic, and so they can’t wait to make the most of the time they have left now – especially third year students. In fact, many plan to never bunk again! “We were told by our seniors that most of the great memories are made by bunking classes. However, that doesn’t apply to us. Going back to campus and attending lectures with our classmates will give us memories. We have hardly had any offline classes in the last couple of years, so it feels great to be back and see the faces of all my friends. I and my group of friends have decided that we will not miss a single day, as we never know when there will be a new wave that will take us back to boring online classes. I really hope I can enjoy being in campus till I graduate,” says

K Sneha, a second year student at Villa Mary College, says, “My elder sister studied in the same college and she’d often tell me stories about how she would visit Tank Bund to have street food with her friends, or catch a movie at a multiplex in Necklace Road after college hours. I can’t wait to explore the streets of Necklace Road and experience all of that.”

However, in the last two years, I haven’t gotten a platform to showcase my talent. I’ve now signed up for every single event, and I can’t wait to get back on stage again,” he says.
