HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader and Bhongir Member of Parliament (MP) Komatireddy Venkat Reddy lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills police alleging that an unknown person has uploaded a video using abusive language against him on YouTube. Based on the MP's complaint, police registered a case and arrested the accused on Saturday.
In his complaint to the police on Friday night, Venkat Reddy alleged that the offender posted a video using foul language. "The complaint was that the accused made a video against the MP using objectionable language. Besides that, the MP also alleged that he received a threatening phone call from an unknown offender," Banjara Hills inspector M Narender told TOI.
Police registered a criminal case and quickly zeroed in on a suspect, U Siddharth Goud from Sri Nagar Colony on Saturday.
According to police, Siddharth Goud, is a cab drivers' association leader from Hyderabad and he is affiliated to Congress party. Goud told cops that he was upset about Venkat Reddy's alleged non-cooperation with the state leadership of Congress. "We have issued a notice to Goud asking him to appear for questioning and let him off," police said.
