Begum Bazar police said that when some of the bakery staff came to the store to pack some of their products, which were supposed to be delivered to customers, they found that a shutter of the shop damaged.

Immediately, the staff informed the management, who came to the store and started to check for the stored cash.

"There was Rs 9.60 lakh cash which was kept inside a safe. This cash is intact since the accused could not break open the safe. As of now, we are verifying the CCTV footage to identify the accused,’’ Central Zone police said.

Officials initially said that the incident took place between April 21 and April 29 since the workers last came on April 20 to pack the products before again coming to store on Wednesday.
