Hyderabad: Criticising Telangana Jagruthi president
K Kavitha for her remarks in the council on Monday, BRS ex-MLA Gongidi Sunitha has alleged that the former party leader is dancing to the tunes of some forces, which are known to everyone in the state. The leader dared her to take an oath on Lord Laxmi Narasimha Swamy that she had no role in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. "AAP leader and Delhi ex-CM Arvind Kejriwal's name was damaged due to Kavitha," the ex-MLA said.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Sunitha asked Kavitha why, when she had resigned from her MLC seat four months ago, she waited for so long to get it accepted. "Did you not resign gracefully? If you are technically a BRS member of the council, why did you do this in the council?" she asked. "The Jagruthi leader appeared to speak in the council only to criticise BRS and
KCR (K Chandrasekhar Rao)," she said.

The BRS leader said that when Kavitha was against changing the name of TRS to BRS, why she changed Telangana Jagruthi's name to Bharat Jagruthi. "She recommended several leaders of her group for party and other posts to party working president KTR (KT Rama Rao). If there is no democracy in the party, how did she manage to get posts for her supporters?" Sunitha asked.
The BRS leader said KCR gave her the MLC post after she lost the Nizamabad seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, even while denying an MLC seat to ex-MP and senior leader B Vinod Kumar.
Sunitha said that when she was jailed in the liquor scam, KTR and Harish Rao strove to get bail for her by camping in Delhi.
Privilege Motion Against CM
BRS MLAs KP Vivekananda, Kova Laxmi and others requested assembly speaker G Prasad Kumar to initiate a privilege motion against chief minister A Revanth Reddy for misleading the MLAs on the Rayalaseema lift irrigation scheme (RLIS), stating that he stopped the project being taken up by the AP govt. The statement was factually incorrect and misleading, the MLAs said.
The MLAs met the speaker on Monday and submitted the representation, saying the Telangana CM's statement was contradicted by the AP govt officially. Similarly, the CM misquoted the Apex Council meetings I and II and altered the minutes' orders. By reading out the order of the minutes, Revanth Reddy distorted the facts in the assembly. On the Krishna water issue, the MLAs said a temporary and interim arrangement was quoted as a formal and binding agreement. "This is material misrepresentation, as a temporary arrangement does not carry the legal sanctity or enforceability of an agreement," the MLAs said. They sought the speaker to initiate a privilege motion.
