BRS councillor attack: Are police trained to stay silent, asks RS Praveen Kumar
HYDERABAD: BRS’ Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha contestant and former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar has demanded DGP Ravi Gupta to take action against two cops who remained ‘mute spectators’ when a BRS councillor was attacked on May 14.
He said in the attack, allegedly by Congress supporters, councillor Balaraju suffered injuries. He said a group of people had created havoc at the residence of Balaraju in Achampet and attacked him with sticks. He said police had come half an hour after a call was made to them and did not restrain the group. He said no attempt was also made to apprehend them.
He said when he asked the DSP why the culprits were not caught, he was informed that they were absconding. “They did not even attempt to apprehend them when the crime was being committed and now we are told that they are absconding. This clearly shows that police are dancing to the tunes of the ruling party,” he said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Praveen Kumar, who also posted videos of the attack on the councillor’s house, commented: “Is this the way policemen are trained to respond in Telangana? Or are they asked to stay silent. The inability to apprehend at least one accused till now bolsters the suspicion that they are hand in glove with the aggressors,” he added.

So, you should be aware of the trainers better than anyone else, you were in police dept already and you are now in the party who trained them ... How foolish of you to ask such questions ...Read allPost comment
