Police arrested him on Wednesday for committing the murder of his sister-in-law, J
Sirisha at Kallapur village in Parigi mandal on Sunday.
Vikarabad SP N Koti Reddy said that Anil wanted to have an affair with his sister-in-law and exploit her.
"She never gave a response to him. On Saturday night Sirisha left home alone and Anil went in search of her. He found her alone near Mysamma temple and following an argument, attacked her with a stick in an indiscriminate manner. He picked up a broken beer bottle and stabbed her eyes before drowning her in the abutting lake," the SP said.
The victim was found dead in the waterbody on June 11. Police shifted the body for postmortem and during the preliminary probe, it came to light that Sirisha was assaulted by her family members including her father for not preparing food on June 10 evening.
Sirisha's mother was hospitalised and she was supposed to prepare food for her father and her younger brother. As Sirisha did not prepare food, her father, Jangaiah had an argument with her on June 10. Sirisha's younger brother,
Srinivas, informed about the argument to his eldest sister Lalitha and her husband
Anil, who were with their mother in the hospital. Anil immediately called Sirisha and abused her for not preparing food. Upset, Sirisha tried to hang herself but the accused along with the other family members prevented it.
Subsequently Anil left the house and in the night Sirisha sneaked out latching the main door from outside.
Anil went in search of Sirisha. He saw her at Mysamma temple and follwing an argument, killed her.
