Bomb scare at Telangana's Hanumakonda court: 2014 case explosives found inside; hoax call traced

HANUMAKONDA: A bomb threat call was received at Hanumakonda district court in Telangana, prompting police officials to deploy a bomb squad and initiate a search operation, an official said on Friday.

Upon receiving information, the subedari police and bomb squad rushed to the court complex. During their search, they discovered six detonators within the premises. Subedari inspector M Ranjith Kumar stated that the six detonators had been seized in 2014 in connection with a case registered under the Athmakur police station's jurisdiction.

The 2014 case was disposed of a month ago, but the detonators had not been handed over to the bomb squad for proper disposal.

The subedari police came across the six detonators while conducting a bomb search. They were found in the first additional sub-court of Hanumakonda.

After proper inspection of the premises, police and bomb squad concluded it was a hoax call made by unknown individuals. "We are also tracing the call details," said Ranjith Kumar.
