BJP using Ram for political mileage: Cong

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress senior vice-president Mallu Ravi on Saturday appealed to the party cadres to recite at their homes on January 22 the devotional song “Raghupathi Raghava Raja Ram, Eshwar Allah Tero Naam,” popularised by Mahatma Gandhi. While slamming the BJP for using the name of Lord Ram to gain political mileage, Mallu Ravi said the DNA of Lord Ram has always been in the blood of the Congress and Gandhi’s devotional song stands testimony to the grand old party treating all religions and communities equally. He said police have registered an FIR against Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister for his comments against the Gandhi family members. “I will contest from the Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha seat if the party approves my name,” he said.
