HYDERABAD: BJP Telangana on Sunday hit out at chief minister A Revanth Reddy for his remarks on reservation, saying the CM is trying to create tension in society to garner more votes.
Addressing a press conference at the party office, state BJP chief and Union minister Kishan Reddy said, “There is an attempt to attribute things, which are not in BJP’s agenda.” Kishan said: “Why is he talking about our agenda wrongly? We will talk about our agenda. Maybe it is the agenda of Congress to remove reservation.”
Taking a dig at Congress, Kishan Reddy said the grand old party was an “Italian party” and their party leader belonged to Italy. “BJP does not want to fall into the trap laid by Congress. But we are responding for the sake of the people. Congress has malicious intentions and they are playing a deceptive game again in the Parliament elections,” the Union minister said.
Kishan further said Congress could not implement any of the guarantees it had promised in the 2023 assembly elections. “Congress is making baseless allegations to cover up its failures,” Kishan Reddy added.
The Union minister also said BRS and Congress were conspiring against BJP. “But people have understood their false games,” BJP’s Secunderabad MP nominee said.
BJP national secretary Bandi Sanjay said Congress had stooped to a low level. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it very clear that reservations will not be scrapped,” he added.
“BJP is the only party that cares for all sections and respects all religions. Revanth Reddy is making false allegations against BJP and reservations because he is afraid of losing polls,” the Karimnagar MP alleged, adding that the Congress was in trouble because the party would not get any seats.
