BJP outreach: Nadda meets Nageshwar and Ananda
Hyderabad: BJP national president JP Nadda on Sunday called on former MLC and political analyst Professor K Nageshwar at the latter’s residence as part of the saffron party’s outreach programme. Nadda along with Union tourism minister G Kishan Reddy and others visited the academic and handed over a book on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nine years in office. Later, speaking to the media, Nageshwar said: “It is part of the Indian culture to have a dialogue with people of different ideologies. I welcomed them and we exchanged ideas.” However, this meeting led to social media outrage from left sympathisers as Nageshwar is known to have left leanings. Refuting these posts, the former MLC said, “There is no truth in saying that I will change my ideological position because of a meeting, neither BJP expects this. But the dialogue between people of different ideologies is good for democracy.” In a related development, Nadda also met classical dancer Ananda Shankar Jayant as part of the outreach.
