hyderabad: the bharatiya janata party (bjp) has released its first list of candidates for the 24 wards for the ensuing mch elections here on thursday. the assembly constituencywise list of candidates is as follows: khairatabad constituency: yousufguda - p janardhan (bc); panjagutta - c bala prakash (bc); khairatabad - laxma reddy (general) and erragadda - d nageswar rao (sc).
musheerabad: jawahar nagar -t sailaja (bc); kavadiguda - t indira singh (bc); domalguda - t ravinder (bc) and vidyanagar -b jai ram reddy (gc). karwan: mehdipatnam - devara karunakar (bc); ziaguda -kalyanam dhanraj (sc); seetarambagh - j d prabhu singh (gen) and karwan - rukmini (bc). asifnagar: y krishna (bc) and gunfoundry - nandraj (sc). secunderabad: padmaraonagar - mantri kalavathi (bc), seetaphalmandi - r sunitha (bc) and mahamoodguda - swaroopa goud (bc). chandrayanagutta: gowlipura -k jag jeevan reddy (gen), sultan shahi - pasham surender (bc) and riasath nagar - gopal sharma (gen) and ameerpet division on sanathnagar - shyam sunder goud (bc) will be the official candidate of the party. addressing a press conference here, city bjp unit president chinthala ramachandra reddy said the party gave representation to all the sections and some of the general seats were also given to the backward classes. in all, the party is fielding 15 bcs, four sc and five ocs. of the total 24, six seats were given to women. according to him, the controversy over the three wards in himayatnagar continues with the tdp unrelenting to give them to the bjp. similarly, if the tdp agrees to leave the tarnaka division, the bjp would in turn leave mylargadda or new bhoiguda to the tdp. the second list of candidates for the rest of the divisions would be released in a day or two. surprisingly, no minority candidate found place in the first list of the bjp. when asked about this, ramachandra reddy said they would field minority candidates in some divisions and their names would be announced shortly. hundreds of party workers and prospective candidates were thronging the city party office at basheerbagh. while some raised slogans for the victory of the party, those who failed to get the ticket and their followers expressed their unhappiness with the party leadership.
