hyderabad: uproarious scenes were witnessed in the assembly on wednesday over certain remarks made by the bjp floor leader n indrasena reddy. majlis-e-ittehadul muslimeen leader assadudin owaisi took strong exception to the term 'islamic terrorist' used by indrasena reddy while speaking on the resolution moved in the house condemning the attack on parliament.

owaisi said that terrorism had no religion and religions did not preach violence. chief minister n chandrababu naidu intervened and appealed to the leaders not to politicise the issue. owaisi requested the leaders not to demean any religion and said the attack on parliament should not be used as an excuse to attack islam. owaisi asked the bjp leader if the destructors of the babri masjid could be called as 'hindu terrorists'. he also objected to the reference made by indrasena reddy to the old city and said muslims were as patriotic as any other indian. opposition leader y s rajasekhara reddy, while supporting the government on the resolution, said the failure of intelligence agencies in preventing the attack should be accounted for. he accused certain parties of trying to promote the controversial poto (prevention of terrorism ordinance) bill, which had failed to prevent the attack on parliament. indrasena reddy said that the terrorist activities were spreading through out the country and more so in hyderabad. he alleged that political patronage was being given to the terrorists in hyderabad. the telangana rashtra samiti leader k chandrasekhara rao said this was not a time to fight over silly issues and the country was united in its fight against terrorism.
