BJP dharnas today over police action

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP will organise dharnas across all districts on Thursday in protest against police action of foiling the deeksha of party chief G Kishan Reddy.
Addressing a press conference after Kishan Reddy was shifted from Indira Park to the state party office, party national vice-president DK Aruna said the BRS government was trying to humiliate the Union minister by taking him into preventive custody and roughing him up. She said the autocratic ways of the government cannot intimidate the BJP and its cadre.
While Kishan Reddy will continue his fast till 11 am on Thursday, doctors conducted medical tests on him as he is believed to have received minor injuries during the melee when the cops lifted him.
Telangana BJP affairs in-charge Tarun Chugh condemned police high-handed behaviour.
“It is shocking that police used brutal force at the time of the arrest unmindful of the fact that Kishan Reddy is a Union minister and ‘Z’ grade security protectee. Kishan Reddy fell conscious, but police were not conscious of it. It is surprising that in the draconian regime of CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, even peaceful fasts are not allowed,” he said.
Former MLA Nallu Indrasena Reddy said the agitation will lead to the end of the autocratic rule of KCR.
