Beautician thief from Bengaluru held in Hyderabad's star hotel

HYDERABAD: She isn’t a normal beautician who would do just hair, facials and make-up. She would check into star hotels, zero in on gullible people at hotel exhibitions and scoot with their money. Mun Mun Hussain (48) isn’t even from Hyderabad. She travels all the way from Bengaluru, her native place, in trains and buses to strike at her ‘targets’.
Panjagutta police on Saturday arrested the beautician-turned-thief for flicking a cash bag from a star hotel on Road No.1, Banjara Hills, on March 30. The bag had Rs 1 lakh cash.
On March 31, K Sandeep Sharma (43), a textile designer from Kishan Nagar in Thane of Maharashtra, lodged a complaint with police alleging that the bag containing Rs 1 lakh had gone missing from his textile stall set up at an exhibition organised in the star hotel in Banjara Hills.
Panjagutta police verified the CCTV footage at the hotel and nearby areas. Cops identified the suspect and traced her location to Bengaluru.
Interestingly, Mun Mun returned to the city on Saturday and checked into a star hotel in Somajiguda. Cops arrested her from the hotel and recovered Rs 83,000 from the accused.
Sandeep kept the cash bag of the day’s collection and Mun Mun, in a flash, lifted the bag and vanished from the hotel that day.
Police said the accused has committed three such offences in Bengaluru too. “We suspect that she returned to Hyderabad and checked into the star hotel to commit another offence. We will seek her custody from the court,” police said.
