Eluru: A 26-year-old banker committed suicide at

Pedapadu

village in Eluru man dal of

West Godavari

on Satur day.
The de ceased was identi fied as Shantipriya, assistant bank manager at Indian Bank. According to police, the deceased had rented a room near her office for resting as she was an asthma patient. On Saturday afternoon, Shantipriya took permission from her superior at work to go to her room. However, she did not return till night when the bank closed.

“As she did not return, her fellow employees became worried and went to check on her. At her room, they found her dead, hanging from the ceiling. The body was sent to

Eluru General Hospital

for post mortem examination,“ said Eluru police.

As per the preliminary investigation, police believe Shantipriya took the extreme step because of severe health problems.
