Hyderabad: Justice D Nagarjun of the Telangana high court on Friday stayed for four weeks the judgment of the Adilabad district court that asked all the 29 cops who allegedly took part in the July 2010 encounter of Maoist leader Cherukuri Rajkumar alias Azad and journalist Hemachandra Pandey to face the trial process as accused.
The case will now be heard one month from now after perusing the counter filed by the respondents.
While
CBI said that its probe concluded that the encounter was genuine, Azad’s the kin filed protest plea against closure of case. The district court earlier directed the cops to face the trial. tnn
