Avinash Reddy gets CBI summons again
TIRUPATI: CBI, which is probing the murder of former parliamentarian YS Vivekananda Reddy, has again summoned Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy for questioning. The MP has been quizzed at least four times in recent past — his last session with CBI on April 21 lasted six hours.
While hearing the anticipatory bail plea of Avinash Reddy in last week of April, both Supreme Court and Telangana high court gave the investigators the go-ahead, with the apex court setting a fresh deadline of June 30.

The earlier deadline was April 30, but with CBI changing the investigating officer in the case, SC set a June 30 date.
Kadapa MP’s father YS Bhaskar Reddy, who was earlier arrested by CBI, continues to remain in judicial custody, while Yerra Gangi Reddy, accused number one in the case, surrendered before CBI court at Hyderabad on May 5 and has been in judicial custody since then.
The Kadapa MP has been asked to come to the CBI office at Koti in Hyderabad for questioning at 11 am on Tuesday. Vivekananda Reddy, younger brother of former chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and uncle of chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, was found dead in the washroom of his residence in Kadapa district’s Pulivendula town on March 15, 2019, a month before elections.
