HYDERABAD: TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao is shifting gears. In what could be a fresh gamble to woo the electorate with time running out for polls, the chief minister fleshed out his welfare agenda before the people. Two days after promising a lot of sops and basking under Kanti Velugu’s glory, he came up with his magnum opus by vowing to create health profiles of all the 3.9 crore people residing in Telangana if his TRS party is elected to power again.
Elaborating on the grand plan that he had unveiled in the past, the chief minister said ENT specialists would conduct check-up on every person in the state.
After ENT teams do their job, another team would conduct free blood tests. Addressing a rally in Nakrekal as part of his campaign blitz, KCR tried to drive home the point that having the health profile of every individual ready would be of immense help to not only detect health-related issues but also help them get right treatment.
“In any emergency, the health profile, if it is ready, will come in handy to treat a patient,” he maintained.
He explained that the Kanti Velugu programme was a huge success. After the eye check-up, free spectacles had been given to those who needed them, he claimed. “Even after the ENT check-up, if surgeries are needed, the government will get them done free of cost,” he said. KCR lauded health minister C Laxma Reddy for implementing Kanti Velugu so well.
“Laxma Reddy will be in the same big position when the TRS comes to power again,” he promised the electorate at Jadcherla from where Laxma Reddy is seeking to test his luck again.
Addressing a meeting in Medak, the TRS president hinted at giving a ‘promotion’ to party candidate Padma Devender Reddy once she wins the seat. Padma served as a deputy speaker in the dissolved assembly. Going by KCR’s words, Padma stands a chance to be elevated to post of a cabinet minister and if she indeed is inducted as a minister, it would be the first time that a woman would be inducted into the TRS government.
KCR promised the same to Nakrekal candidate Vemula Veeresham, who is seeking re-election.
After the CM finished his speech, Veeresham walked up to the CM and sought his blessings by touching his feet in anticipation of a probable ministerial berth if the TRS is elected to power again.
