HYDERABAD: Crime Investigation Department (CID) sleuths produced Tollywood producer C Kalyan in a court in Chennai on Thursday. He will be brought to the city on a prisoner transit (PT) warrant on Friday.

Based on complaints lodged by Mohammed Ashraf of Shalimar Videos and Mohammed Ashfaq of Universal Home Entertainment, two cheating cases were registered against the producer by the Central Crime Station (CCS) police.

Later, the cases were transferred to CID, which was entrusted with the responsibility of investigating the Suri murder case.
CID sleuths said Kalyan was staying in a flat next to his friend and co-accused Tollywood producer Singanamala Ramesh’s house in T Nagar in Chennai. During the searches at his house, police claimed to have seized incriminating documents. While talking to the media at a local court in Chennai on Thursday, Kalyan claimed he was very much available for police questioning and not at all on the run. CCS police who were entrusted with the case were not able to trace him for five months. Kalyan would be brought to the city on Friday and grilled about his properties and links with Bhanu.
“Most of his properties are in Hyderabad. We will get to know more details when we bring him to the city and carry out searches,” a CID officer said.
