HYDERABAD: As many as 98.8 per cent of polytechnic students qualified Ecet-2009 whose results were released on Tuesday.
Of the 15,704 students who appeared for the examination, 15,526 cleared it. Incidentally, number of seats, 19,991, are more than aspirants.
Releasing the results, Ecet and Eamcet chairman D N Reddy said that the performance of students was encouraging enough to increase the number of seats for lateral entry.
When asked about the response of AP State Human Rights Commission about not allowing students to get into the Eamcet examination hall, Reddy said that a reply was given to the officials about late entry.
"Since Eamcet is a competitive examination, the question paper could be leaked if the students are allowed to get in after the examination begins," Reddy said.
