AP, Telangana toppers share dreams of IIT-Bombay
Hyderabad: Having studied hard for years, the IIT-JEE toppers from the two Telugu states all hope to join the prestigious IIT-Bombay.
For Jeevithiesh Duggani, a resident of Vijayawada who secured the all India rank 4, the result was expected. "I always knew that I would secure a good rank in IIT-JEE (Advanced). I secured the 35th rank in the Telangana Eamcet, 78th rank in the AP Eamcet and got 295 marks in the JEE (Mains) exam," said a jubilant Duggani, who now plans to study computer science at IIT-Bombay.
The journey for Sai Teja Talluri was longer as he has been undergoing the IIT basic foundation course since class 6 at the Narayana Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy. Talluri, who had secured rank 1 in the IIT-JEE (Mains) as well as Telangana Eamcet, clocked rank 5 in the advanced exam. Having studied for nearly 12 hours per day, Talluri has his eyes set on Bombay.
"I spent most of my time at the coaching centre. I plan to pursue computer science because I want to start my own company in programming and gaming one day," said Talluri.
The third topper from the twin states, G Nikhil Samrat, who secured rank 7, has different plans as he wishes to pursue research after earning his engineering degree. "I did not study more than what was taught in my institute. After pursuing computer science from IIT-Bombay, I wish to do research in Physics as I believe there is immense scope in it," said Samrat, who scored 293 out of 372 in the advanced exam.
What brought the required balance for Praneeth Reddy, who secured rank 8, was probably yoga. "I used to do yoga every alternate day to keep myself focused in my studies. Pranayam and suryanamaskar primarily helped me relieve my stress," said Reddy, a resident of Kadapa. He too wants to be an entrepreneur after studying computer science at IIT-Bombay.
Away from the beaten track walks Vignesh Reddy Konda, who has his eyes set on the moon. For this, he wants to study aeronautical engineering. "My aim to land on the moon by 2025. I spend a lot of time accessing an app named Stellarium, which helped me figure out different constellations. Anything related to astronomy fascinates me," he said.
