Anti-Corruption Bureau nabs senior assistant in taxes department

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths conducted surprise checks on the house of a senior assistant in commercial taxes department and unearthed assets worth Rs 83.09 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income.
On Monday morning, ACB sleuths conducted a surprise raid on the house of Eragijja Anand Babu, 37, senior assistant, Office of Deputy Commercial Tax Officer (DCTO) -1, Musheerabad Circle, Abids.They seized several documents pertaining to his assets, income and expenditure from the house in Asif Nagar. The analysis of the documents revealed that Anand Babu had amassed assets worth Rs 83,09,358, an ACB official said.
Anand Babu was arrested, produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Hyderabad and remanded in judicial custody.
