HYDERABAD: Central Crime Station (CCS) sleuths on Friday arrested an accomplice of the prime accused in the online ticket booking fraud that took place recently in the
Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and seized Rs 40,000 cash from him.
CCS officials said A Rama Shiva, a resident of Ramanthapur was an accomplice of P Hanumantha Rao, the prime accused in the online ticket booking fraud who was arrested recently.
Rama Shiva had helped Hanumantha Rao in cancelling 107 bus tickets, they said. Earlier, Hanumantha Rao fraudulently accessed the username and password meant for the Vizianagaram depot clerk and illegally transferred Rs 8 lakh to the Cheepurupally RTC agent's account, which was used for reserving RTC bus tickets.
Hanumantha Rao booked 107 tickets and later with the help of Rama Shiva, cancelled the same tickets with various agents and made money out of it. Apart from Rs 40,000 cash, the cops seized a hard disk, cell phone and other related documents from the accused.
