Ambulance driver caught for drunk driving in Hyderabad

The traffic police caught an ambulance driver, who was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, during a special drive at street number 6 in Himayatnagar on Sunday afternoon.

HYDERABAD: The traffic police caught an ambulance driver, who was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, during a special drive at street number 6 in Himayatnagar on Sunday afternoon.
The accused has been identified as 24-year-old Aanjaneyulu, who drives a private ambulance. Police said there was no patient in the ambulance when the driver was caught.
Speaking to TOI, Narayanguda traffic CI Subbaiah Pasupuleti said, “When we asked Aanjaneyulu to take breath analyser test, he initially refused.

However, we went ahead with the test and found that his Blood Alcohol Concentration level was 154 mg/dl. He was heavily drunk and not in a condition to drive.”
The police seized the vehicle and booked a case.
The permissible level according to the Hyderabad traffic police is below 30 mg. The rules also state that anything above 40 mg is dangerous.
