Allegro MicroSystems to set up e-mobility centre in Hyd

Hyderabad: After chip makers like Intel, AMD, Qualcomm and Micron, its now the turn of yet another US-based semiconductor player Allegro MicroSystems to set up shop in Hyderabad.The company, which designs, develops, manufactures and markets sensor integrated circuits (ICs) and application specific analog power ICs for motion control and energy efficient systems, will be setting up a centre focused on e-mobility solutions in Hyderabad.Announcing this on Friday, Telangana industries & IT minister KT Rama Rao tweeted: “Delighted to welcome Allegro Microsystems, a global leader in semiconductors, known for their cutting-edge sensor and power solutions. With an expansive customer base exceeding 10,000 worldwide and annual revenues surpassing a Billion USD, Allegro Microsystems has chosen to establish its presence in Hyderabad.”“The Hyderabad centre will be focusing on the exciting domains of e-mobility (electric vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems) and will work closely with the Telangana Mobility Valley (TMV),” KTR tweeted after his meeting with Allegro MicroSystems top brass.KTR said the move will create jobs for nearly 500 highly skilled professionals with expertise in engineering, innovation and development of state-of-the-art integrated circuits.
