Charminar: Amidst the ongoing family dispute between additional deputy commissioner of police (south zone) K Babu Rao and his first wife K Vedasri, the latter has moved a family court seeking divorce. The police officer has pleaded that the court pass a decree dissolving the marriage which was solemnised on June 8, 1983.
In his petition, the police officer stated that his wife had “illegal” affairs with three persons at different occasions and she also deserted him 20 years ago.
Despite fathering four children, his wife did not show respect to the sacred institution of marriage and has been living a life according to her whims. “In the year 2006 Babu Rao and Vedasri entered into an amicable settlement to terminate future relationship by paying six lakhs,” an excerpt from the petition reads.
The officer’s wife K Vedasri, a resident of BK Guda in SR Nagar, earlier filed a petition in the Additional Chief Metropolitan Court at Nampally, that her husband K Babu Rao and another woman, Tayyaba Tasneem, have taken away the documents of the 192 sq yard land parcel, which she owned, and had sold them by forging signature and the registration of the land was impersonated.
Vedasri, in her petition, stated that since the time of their marriage in 1983, her husband Babu Rao harassed her mentally and physically saying that she was not beautiful.
In her petition filed with the family court she pleaded that she is unable to maintain her children and meet her daily needs, requested the court to direct her husband for restitution of her rights and accept her again as his wife or if he is not willing then direct him to divorce as per the law.
The Additional DCP also requested the court to pass orders granting relief in the case.
