Vanitha Reddy and two others were named accused in the suicide case based on a selfie video left behind by Vijay, in which he blamed the trio for driving him to suicide. After Vijay Sai’s death, Vanitha had revealed his alleged affair to deflect criticism that she was responsible for his death.

said Vanitha surrendered before police and later let off after serving a notice to re-appear before the investigators in 10 days to face questioning again.

“During questioning, Vanitha claimed she had nothing to do with Vijay’s suicide. Also, she was staying separately and a divorce case was pending in a local court,’’ Purnachander added.

On the allegation that she took away a car, she told police that the car was registered in her name. Since he did not return the car, she along with a few others forcibly took away the car.

After his death, Vijay’s family members lodged a complaint that Vanitha and two others, including an advocate, were booked for driving the actor to the extreme step. Since December 11, the day the actor committed suicide by hanging at his Yousufguda flat, police were waiting for Vanitha to appear
