Actor’s brother moves HC to quash FIR in drugs case

Hyderabad: Aman Preet Singh, brother of a popular actress, who is allegedly accused of peddling and consuming drugs, approached Telangana high court seeking to quash an FIR registered against him at Masab Tank police station.The case was registered against Singh and others in Dec 2025 under various sections of the NDPS Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following the seizure of synthetic drugs (cocaine in capsule form and MDMA in crystalline powder form) from Singh's associates. While Singh was yet to be arrested, he was shown as absconding in police records.Justice Tirumala Devi Eada took up the petition on Tuesday and directed the authorities to get instructions (their response) in the matter and adjourned the matter for further hearing.Through the writ petition, Singh urged the court to call for records and quash the proceedings arising out of the said case. His counsel argued that the continuation of the criminal proceedings was unsustainable in law.
