HYDERABAD: The SOT sleuths of LB Nagar along with Saroornagar Police arrested M Mallikarjuna Gandhi, an absconding accused in a Himalayan University fake certificate case. Gandhi got a job in an MNC using a fake certificate.

Police seized fake marks memos and provisional certificate of the B.Com degree in the name of Gandhi, who is working at the Gachibowli office of the MNC.

According to police, Mallikarjun, who did not have a degree, approached P Srinivas, director of Sri Vaibhav Academy education consultancy, in Saroornagar and obtained a fake degree of Himalayan University in Itanangar by paying Rs 75,000.

Police already arrested, P Srinivas, 53, and another client, KV Mallikarjuna Rao, 51, in June. Rao also got a fake certificate for his daughter paying Rs 90,000 to Srinivas, said Brijesh Tiwari of Kolkata had given him fake certificates. tnn
