, including 1,000 wholesale shops, remained shut on Friday to protest the government policy of allowing sales of medicines through online pharmacies.

Telangana Chemists and Druggists Association claimed its bandh call elicited a positive response, with nearly 90% of all medical stores in the state, including those belonging to chains like Apollo Pharmacy and MedPlus, downing their shutters for the day.
