The state government on Saturday transferred and posted eight IAS officers, including naming B P Acharya as the commissioner of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

HYDERABAD: The state government on Saturday transferred and posted eight IAS officers, including naming B P Acharya as the commissioner of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
The post of HMDA commissioner was lying vacant ever since K S Jawahar Reddy was shifted to the CMO some weeks ago. In Acharya's place, B R Meena, till now AP housing board commissioner, was brought in as the new vice-chairman and managing director of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).
Among other key transfers, IAS officer T S Appa Rao was appointed principal secretary of municipal administration and urban development.

The post has been lying vacant since C V S K Sarma was shifted to the CMO. L V Subrahmanyam, principal secretary in health, medical and family welfare department, has been transferred to AP Housing Board in place of Meena.
Lakshmi Parthasarathy, who is awaiting posting, was appointed as principal secretary of transport, roads and buildings department, in place of T Chatterjee, who has been posted as special chief secretary, planning, in place of A K Goyal, who retires from service in December.
Adhar Sinha, who is also awaiting posting, was appointed as commissioner of collegiate education in place of Somesh Kumar who has proceeded on leave. C R Biswal, special commissioner in the office of chief commissioner of land administration, will take charge as principal secretary of higher education department.
